W.A Cooke & Sons was established in 1926 by William Allen Cooke and in March 2016 will celebrate its 90th year.
Originally set up as a Blacksmiths on the cobbled high street of Walkden town the majority of our customers were more interested in getting their horses shoed than developing bespoke fabrications, but as the years passed the complexity of the work William and his team undertook increased and it wasn’t long before they were working on challenging fabrications for a variety of industries.
While the forge is gone and the anvil gathers dust in the corner W.A Cooke & Sons still works to the same principles it was founded on and to this days remains a family run engineering company.
This year not only marks our 90th anniversary but also sees the significant development of the W.A Cooke & Sons group such as:
- Numerous new product & service releases under both the W.A Cooke & Sons Engineering and Watermark Projects wastewater treatment divisions (including an in-house drawing & design service)
- Expansion and re-development of our head office
- Further developments to the Dissolved Air Flotation system and significant growth to our fleet of trial units through the Watermark Projects division
