Refurbishment Of An Escalator Screen

BREAKDOWN

One of our municipal clients reported issues they were having with an Escalator Screen.

The screen acted as the first line of defence for their Water Treatment Plant, as a pre screen it was a key element of the overall gross solids removal process . However, due to the poor condition of the screen, it desperately needed a refurbishment to get their wastewater treatment facility back to optimum efficiency.

COLLECTION

W A Cooke Group Site Services team travelled to their site, decommissioned the screen and took it back to our base in Manchester. Beginning the refurbishment process.

We were working against the clock as our client had to divert their wastewater to lower quality inlet screens during this down time. Therefore, the project required a very quick turn around.

REFURBISHMENT

Part by part, the decaying segments were fixed. The refurbishment itself included the gearbox, chains, and bearings. Moreover, a new frame was fabricated to ensure long term durability.

INSTILLATION

Our team then returned to site to refit the final product. Here is our before and after…
