Assembly & Testing Services

 W. A. Cooke & Sons skilled fitters are comfortable working to fine tolerances setting up bearings, couplings and gearboxes into a full machine assembly.

The finished assembly can then be wired up and factory tested by our skilled team.

Dependant on the size of the full assembly, it is sometimes necessary to split it down into transportable pieces.

Our Site Installation team will often then follow the assembled unit to site and lift it into position, interfacing with other services/products and finally conduct testing and commissioning.

We also proof build steel structures to test that everything fits and subsequently strip it down again for shipment.

Pipework is generally, Magnetic Partical tested, Dye Penetrant tested, x-rayed, ultrasonic tested and/or pressure tested to specification and certified accordingly.

Manufacture and assembly of 52 metre span tank scrapers and bridges.

This was a water treatment product, a rectangular bridge scraper, which was constructed as four 13m bridges spliced together into one 52m bridge that spanned five rails. It travelled along the tank, driven by the second and fourth carriage only, each end and the middle carriages were undriven.

Pre assemblies

Pre-assembly in the workshop sometimes saves time and money. If something doesn't fit, we can bring it to the clients attention and work with them to correct the error before it gets to site.
