W A Cooke & Sons is a well-established engineering company which operates from two locations, one in Manchester and the other in Ely (Cambridgeshire).

Since 1926 we have been associated with most of the leading companies in the North West and we have also worked with most of the UK Water Authorities.

W A Cooke have the in-house facilities to provide high quality engineering services regardless of size or complexity. Our comprehensive engineering package consists of general fabrication, coded welding, machining, painting, assembly, testing, and site installation services.

We are quality assured to BS EN ISO 9001:2008.

Coded welding is available in MIG, TIG and MMA process for carbon and stainless steel.

Our History

We have been in business since 1926 which proves we are doing something right. Cookes is a fourth generation family owned engineering business which started with William Allen Cooke, who was a blacksmith. Since then subsequent generations have taken it through various evolutions to the company that it is today. We currently have a varied customer base in many differing industries and our orders vary from a simple fabrication to a complete machine that requires, fabrication, coded welding, stress relief, NDT, machining, painting, assembly with bought in motors, gearboxes, bearings, etc, electrical wiring, factory testing, delivery and installation. We have a straightforward honest approach which appears to be appreciated by our many repeat customers.
